Is There a Difference?

The Risks?

Snus products also provide more smoke and nitrosamines than cigarettes, although snus generally has lower nitrosamines levels than other bronchial products. Although still low overall, pancreatic cancer rates are higher in snus users, and not every study shows that link. Snus may also be associated with a greater likelihood of heart failure “and also a greater likelihood of dying” than if you continue to use snus and suffer from diabetes. Smokeless tobacco users are much more likely than other people to get lip and gum cancer. These studies do not show that snus caused these symptoms but show a connection, not a cause and effect.
Will It Help Quit Cigarette?
One of the huge problems with snus is that it encourages people to smoke that they might otherwise quit. Unlike people who quit smoking, these smokers use snus when they cannot light cigarettes. Snus users say it can be helpful for the public to promote snus to prevent smoking. However, minimal research shows that it is probably not a good way to do the job.
